HIGH GRADE set which has been. Preserved in Mylar bags with acid-free boards! 70 issues are NM- to NM+. (extensive details about each issues condition are included below). This listing is for 1st printings of.
I bought each of these 110 issues on the day that they were each released. They have been kept in my. Home ever since and are in EXCEPTIONAL condition for issues that are DECADES old! They've never spent a single day in a basement, attic, garage or storage unit. They have bright reflective covers, off-white to beige interior pages and almost none of.
Random pressure marks or indentations on the covers that careless readers frequently leave. (and which seldom show up on scans). If youre like me, you get frustrated looking at listings with pictures of clearly worn and faded issues that sellers claim are NEAR MINT (or even MINT) just because theyre in a bag!

I try my best to grade strictly, based on Overstreet criteria. Based on those criteria, the issues in this set range between Very Fine and NEAR MINT+.

(except for the slightly inferior #34 and the VERY glitchy #25 - as described in the chart below). Archival preservation of these issues has left them in EXCEPTIONAL condition. Bright, highly reflective covers that have GREAT color preservation; limited deterioration of the whiteness of interior pages; and nearly NONE of the old-paper aroma which plagues copies that have been stored anywhere that theyve been subjected to heat! The grading and condition information specified below takes into consideration, and balances, ALL 21 of Overstreets individual grading criteria, to derive the grades Ive assigned to each. (but PLEASE carefully examine the 12 high quality photo plus the scans of the MOST valuable issues, since grading is subject to individual opinion and the assignment of different weights to the 21 different criteria by different graders). Limits photos to 12 per listing, but I will happily provide any additional photos you may request to aid you in a decision about purchasing this beautifully preserved set. Interior pages are pretty uniformly in EXCEPTIONAL condition, so grades below Near Mint are based on various cover blemishes, as specified below. (from the common practice of having the covers cut just a bit LARGER than the interior pages). And light dents, or more noticeable crimps, along a spine. When evaluating these issues against Overstreets 21 individual grading criteria, however, imperfections are largely compensated for by the many OUTSTANDING characteristics of the majority of the copies in this set. (including the superior preservation which has been afforded by decades of storage in Mylar with acid-free boards)! The photos and scans reveal the minor nature of the types of imperfections that these books display, and which I describe in the chart below. Grading Notes for STAR WARS 1 - 107 + Annuals 1-3.

See the Key to abbreviations. Located at the bottom of the chart. For mine as part of this set. The FC has some noticeable PD along the top, bottom and rt edges with a couple of tiny nicks in an edge, plus. A blunted lower rt corner; 3 light SCs at mid-spine; and a series of light SDs (mainly next to the TLC box) with a few tiny specks of CB.

The FC also has a light vertical fold (with no CB) running through the TLC box from the top edge of the cover at the end of the words. To the wing of the Fighter on the left.
This fold is actually hard to detect without a strong light source, but it does (almost imperceptibly) affect the interior pages. The BC has some light NPT with a darker 2 ½ vertical line corresponding to the fold described above. On balance this is still a VF copy, but not by much. The FC has a 2 RI with no CB above the letters VEL C in the words MARVEL COMICS GROUP and about 8 extremely light and tiny SDs with only a couple of specks of CB. The BC has a small RI along the top edge and some NPT.
The FC has a few light SDs with no CBL and a tiny nick at the bottom of the spine. The FC has a date stamp, 3 light SCs along the TLC box with tiny spots of CB and a number of barely perceptible SDs with no CB. The BC has some date stamp ink transfer and very light NPT. The FC has an easily missed and VERY light ding at the middle of the non-spine edge of the book that has left a light 3/8 pressure indentation along the edge of the cover. The BC has a super-light fold (not a crease) to the bottom left corner. This copy has a mid-spine ding that is more noticeable on the BC than the FC - it has only left a ¾ semi-circular RI with no CB on the FC. The FC also has some PD along the rt and bottom edges. This copy also has a light ¾ diagonal fold (not a crease) at the top non-spine corner of the book - with no CB. The BC has some light NPT. The FC has some light PD along the rt edge and a few tiny SDs with a single speck of CB. The FC has a series of light SDs with just a few specks of CB, some very light rt edge PD and some light RIs; the BC has some noticeable NPT. The FC has one somewhat significant SD at mid-spine and very light PD along the top and rt edges. The FC has a series of SDs along the bottom half of the TLC box and in the first ½ below it, with a couple of tiny specks of CB. BC has some light NPT and a tiny ding at the bottom of the spine. The FC has a couple of light SDs with specks of CB. The BC has some very light NPT. Some type of pressure along the top edge of the BC of the book left a vertical ¼ indentation that (almost imperceptibly) transferred through all the pages (getting lighter and lighter as you get closer to the FC). Otherwise this one would be at least NM. Very minor assorted cover blemishes. A series of VERY light SDs; a few RIs on both covers. A series of VERY light SDs; a few RIs on both covers; a 5/8 (wide) by 1/8 (tall) pressure indentation at the middle of the bottom edge of the FC causing light rippling throughout the book. The FC has a few light SDs and some barely perceptible micro PCs; some very light NPT on BC. The FC has a light date stamp and a couple of noticeable SCs (with one DOT of CB); some light distress along both covers non-spine edge; some NPT on the BC. A few TINY SDs; light PD to the right edge of the FC. The FC has a date stamp and a few light SDs. A couple of light SDs on the FC. ONE light SD on the FC; light NPT on the BC.
A few light SDs on the FC. BEAUTIFUL covers; a section of interior pages were miscut and folded; and one interior page is missing a piece - all from a production screw-up. A couple of TINY SDs; a bit of light distress along the top edge of the FC; a bit of distress along the top edge of the BC. A couple of TINY SDs on the FC; a bit of light NPT on the BC.
1 light SD on the FC, but STILL Near Mint +. A bit of wear at the top and bottom of the spine; the FC has tiny SDs and some top edge distress but still easily a NM- copy. Light distress on top, bottom and rt edges of FC; FC has small SDs with miniscule CB; a few light page turning, crescent moon RIs on the BC. NM except for an easily missed 1 vertical tear running from the bottom edge of the FC (1/4 from the spine) to the spine.
A couple of minor SDs on the FC and a small red stain red NPT? ; theres a bit of NPT on the BC. 1 light SD on the FC; light PD along the top edge of the FC; a few light page turning, crescent moon RIs on the BC.

A series of light SDs with a couple specks of CB on the FC; the BC has some light NPT. A few VERY light SDs. One SUPER light SC at the bottom of the spine. A few SDs with 2 specks of CB. A series of tiny, light FC SDs.

A couple of tiny, light RIs on FC. Lower non-spine corner has a light ¾ diagonal fold; BC has some light NPT & a few light SCs below the bottom staple. FC has 2 noticeable SCs with tiny CBs. A couple of light RIs on covers.

CB = Break in color. (most often resulting from the cover being cut a tiny bit wider than interior pages). (not deep enough to be considered a crimp). The box, with price, date & character image. (located at the Top Left Corner of the FC). Spine crimps and other cover defects are ONLY accompanied by a break in color when a CB is noted on the chart. Spine crimps and dents show on BOTH covers unless I specify that they affect one cover specifically. Where Ive included a comment that a copy is at least or easily a particular grade, in the chart above, it means that that copy is likely to grade out HIGHER than the grade Ive given it (depending - of course - on the personal preferences and biases of the individual Grader who reviews the copy on any given day). In creating the chart, I filled in current Overstreet pricing enough to let me decide the price for each issue and show my pricing rationale.

Note that the photos and scans used in this listing are not stock images! They are images of the exact copies being offered for sale. The photo shows the entire 110 issue set (in six stacks that are topped and bordered by the 10 most valuable issues - as shown in the chart above) and the 11 scans show the front covers of the 10 most valuable issues (1 - 5; 42; 68; 81; 106 and 107) plus a sample interior page from #42 which is the MOST valuable issue, based on condition and current Overstreet pricing.

(and please be assured that interior pages of the entire run are similarly off-white to cream in color, with whiteness increasing as the issue numbers go up from 1 to 107). These issues will be packed extremely protectively. Please review my Feedback to see what Buyers say. CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS. Youll receive them individually bagged, in E.
